During these three days we had 5 runs on 4 different fields and sheep. I was a little bit nervous, as we have never attended to a three-day long trial before, so I was not sure how well can I take it mentally. I have to say, that the trial itself was really tiring for me. I had to be on the top with my concentration, otherwise we wouldn't be able to manage the courses, as I had to watch the sheep and their react to the dog all the time, good reactivity of the handler and the dog means everything in this sport.
We were trialling in Nursery class, all together 29 dogs were entried into this class. Here are the results day by day:
Run 2 (Saturday, Oct. 10th): we had a bad luck today with the sheep, they were very stubborn and not easy to handle, they tried to run away in every second. The field was unusual and tricky with a Maltese cross included, but I liked it anyways. This was not our best run.. we went through the whole course, Meggy worked very hard and got 52/110 points and placed as the 10th in the end. Judge: Wiet van Dongen (NL)
Run 3 (Saturday, Oct. 10th): it was an AMAZING run! Meggy finally showed how perfectly she can work! We got 91/100 points for our run and it means we got the 1st place! I am still over the moon how well it went! It was our best run ever! Judge: Frauke Spengler (D) - VIDEO
Run 4 (Sunday, Oct. 11th): we got 71/100 points and 10th place with fast sheep, Meggy was great, but I was mentally tired and made more mistakes than usual.. But overall, this run went well! Judge: Aruwen Price (Wales)
Run 5 (Sunday, Oct. 11th): we repeated the good work as we did yesterday. Meggy was FANTASTIC! The whole course was made by small mistakes only, and we finished it in time! We got 91/110 points and it means we got the 1st place again! One of our best runs! :) Judge: Dorine Verhoef-Snoeck (NL) - VIDEO
In the end, the best three runs counted, so our 2x1st place and the one 8th place, Thus overall Meggy got the 3rd place in Nursery class out of 29 dogs! Full list of the results here.
I am very proud of my little girl, she's only 2,5 years old, but she was working sooo hard during the trial, that even I was surprised by the results. She worked for me so well, listened to my commands, handled the different sheep very nicely. Hats off, little girl, you were and are amazing! :)
Plenty of photos were made on this weekend, check them out here: ALBUM :)
